Carol holds a Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Houston-Victoria (M.Ed., 1999). She also earned Bachelors of Science degrees in Secondary Science Education (University of Louisiana at Lafayette, 1989) and Geology (Duke University, 1974).  She holds life-time Texas certifications in School Counseling and Science.

Carol was a high school science teacher for eight years in Lamar Consolidated ISD.  She retired last June after thirteen years as a high school counselor and district lead high school counselor in Katy ISD.  She enjoys working with preteens, teens, adults and families on a variety of clinical issues that impact them in their school, work and home settings.

Carol provides treatment for preteens, adolescents and adults dealing with academic concerns, ADHD, adjustment disorders, anger management, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, obsessive compulsive disorder, organizational skills, parenting concerns, school related problems, social skills and stress-management.

Her treatment philosophy with adults is that every small change that is made in your life creates a ripple effect in relationships with significant others.  She will work closely with you to determine the goals of therapy and the point at which you have achieved your goals is when the therapy is over.

Her treatment philosophy with adolescents is to encourage your teen to understand the concerns that brought him or her to treatment while helping your teen to develop a voice for communicating unique feelings and concerns.  By building a trusting relationship with your teen, she can help him or her to work towards becoming a young, productive adult.  She encourages your teen's communication with you and will facilitate a cooperative partnership with you during treatment.

Her treatment philosophy with preteens is to develop a supportive, caring relationship that allows your child to explore feelings and to learn the social and communication skills needed to be successful and happy in school, social, and home environments.  She works closely with you to set treatment goals and regularly communicate treatment progress with you.
