In September, Michelle will begin Social Thinking Skills Groups supporting children and adolescents who have Autism spectrum and other social emotional challenges. Children in grades 5-8 are welcome. Targeted social skills include: friendship, conversational skills, self-awareness, solving conflicts peaceably, emotion management, perspective taking, social problem solving and knowledge of social rules. Members will practice these skills through: role playing with feedback, engaging in social interactions, modeling and observation, group discussion, and self-monitoring. Through a supportive setting I will facilitate helping children and adolescents successfully interact with others at school, at home, and in the community.

WOMEN
1. Women’s Anger – Facilitated by Kathy Manuel, M.Ed., LPC-Intern
Tuesday evenings 6:00-7:30pm
Anger can cause many challenges in our day to day lives. It can cause health problems, waste energy, and wreck our relationships. If you are experiencing any of these challenges in your life it is important for you to know there is hope for you. In the women’s anger group you will learn effective communication skills, how to process emotions, and healthy ways to manage anger. You will improve relationships, strengthen interpersonal skills, and reduce feelings of anger. You will find support from women who understand what you are going through because they are going through the same challenges themselves. Through empathy and understanding Kathy will lead you to find your own ability to calm yourself and begin to handle frustrating situations in a new way.
2. Spouses of Sex Addicts - Facilitated by Ella Hutchinson, LPC

A safe place where wives who are struggling with the sex addiction or compulsive sexual acting out of their husband will get together to support one another. In this group you will not be labeled a co-addict and the trauma and loss you have experienced will be addressed by a counselor who has been there. Whether or not you are still married and whether you discovered the addiction a week ago or years ago, you are welcome in this group. We will use a curriculum with weekly homework that will assist you in your healing.
