Licensed Professional Counselor Intern

As an interactive, practical therapist, my treatment approach is to assist clients in gaining the awareness necessary to reclaim a strong sense of balance and power over their choices. They can then replace self-destructive thoughts, self-monitoring actions, and negative coping skills with healthy ones. Treatment is provided in a supportive and relaxed setting with an approach focused upon respect and dignity, honoring the individual and what he or she brings. Together, we work to identify future goals toward positive change and build upon strengths with a focus on the present, while still acknowledging the impact of past events.
I work individually with children, adolescents, and adults for a variety of issues including social skills, divorce/separation, grief/loss, relationship problems, stress management, life transitions, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and women’s issues. I also lead educational support groups for parenting skills.
My educational background includes a Masters degree in Counseling from the University of Houston-Victoria. I am presently a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern working under the supervision and leadership of Kevin Glasser, LPC-Supervisor, as I complete the required hours to secure permanent licensure.
