With a non-judgmental viewpoint and an integrated approach to counseling, she encourages you to start the process towards more fulfilling relationships and a more satisfying life today.
Jana has experience working with adults, couples and families, teens, and children. She has worked with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, addictions, life transitions, parenting guidance, cultural concerns, and marriages in crisis. She has facilitated group work in a variety of areas, such as depression, anger management, and overeating. In addition, she also has previous experience as a relocation counselor, helping individuals adjust to new international assignments.
Jana’s Weight Loss Counseling Group offers a group for individuals who have struggled with chronic weight fluctuations, binging, and yo-yo dieting. Whether you are trying to lose weight for the first time or whether you are exhausted from trying yet another diet, this group provides the supportive environment to explore your roadblocks. She helps clients identify overeating triggers, manage emotional eating, and explore what might be holding them back from success.
Jana is a Life Coach and pursuing her Licensed Professional Counselor credential under the supervision of Kevin Glasser, LPC-S. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University in College Station in 1994 and her Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Houston-Victoria in 2012. Jana’s experiences in the graduate program at UHV and also in living overseas have helped her to develop understanding and respect for individuals of diverse backgrounds, while crafting her technical skills. Her own life experiences have afforded her a compassion for others with a non-judgmental viewpoint. She believes that therapy can truly make a positive difference in a person’s life.
